And Happy official, guilt free Christmas-ing! Deck the halls! Blast the carols! And the Buble! AND the Bieber!
In case you need a little help getting into the Christmas spirit (you monster), here is the first of many Holiday posts that'll settle you right in.
Last year was the first time in about 8 years that we spent Christmas back home in Ecuador. We usually spend the Holidays in Miami but this time, with all the wedding festivities and new family members, we decided to stay home. So for the first time in our 3 year relationship, I got to spend Christmas with my boyfriend.
I always joke about how I resemble Cindy-Lou Who from the Grinch, physically and otherwise. And my obsession with Christmas is certainly one of the ways in which I resemble her. And I've always been pretty obsessed, my whole life I've tormented my poor mother to put up the Christmas tree pretty much as soon as Halloween is over. So when I learned that my boyfriend is/was slightly indifferent to the Holiday I knew I had to do something. Every year I tried, but spending Christmas apart from each other didn't help my cause. That is, until last year.
I decided to do a 12 days of Christmas countdown for him and it was AMAZING. You've heard the song and I will not attempt to explain how creative I had to be in order to come up with 12 gifts or ideas that had the slightest relation to the lyrics and didn't completely suck. But it was worth it. Besides, the twelve day countdown until Christmas starts on his December birthday! Coincidence? Probably. But still, I just HAD TO. Laugh all you want, it was amazing. Shout out to my bf for playing along when he probably had never even heard the song. He really must love me.
