I had been missing my dear sister terrribly, so my wonderful husband gave me a ticket to visit her in Florence!
Days couldn't go by slower, and we awaited for our reunion day in and day out. The day finally came, and after traveling across the Atlantic Ocean, we met again!!! We spent 14 days wondering around Florence, amazed at our luck. We went to all the tourist traps but also ate at the local's favorite spots. We went to the flower market that happens every Thursday morning at Piazza della Reppublica and drank countless iced capuccinos at Gilli. We had a picnic at Boboli Gardens and laid under a tree listening to Jean-Yves Thibaudet. We spent a good 20 minutes drooling over Michelangnolo's David. Is gelato-shop-hopping a thing? It is in Florence. Here are some pictures from the joyful visit.
Its safe to say those 14 days flew by. We enjoyed every second we had in each other's company and were sad (to say the very, very least) to say goodbye. I wish I could turn back time and re-live this all over again. But in a way, this blog post kind of has that effect.
Now, Im counting the days until I get to see Lu's beautiful face again!
