Every designer dreams of visiting the Salone del Mobile. Since the very first day of university, our professors pointed our eager (and easily impressed) freshmen eyes towards the Salone for inspiration on the latest trends, technologies and innovations for interiors and furniture. So naturally, we left everything to the last minute and booked our train tickets to Milan for about twice the normal price. Gotta love procrastination.
Our airbnb was so cute. Nestled in Chinatown, our host's nonna received us with a huge hug, a bowl of chocolates and all kinds of compliments. We ate Chinese food and went wig shopping. Don't ask.
Here are some of the highlights, including some off-site visits to designer's showrooms and art installations.
