Hello there! I've been M.I.A for the past two months as I settled back home, struggled to figure out what do with my life (post post-grad school problems?) and tackled the beginning stages of wedding planning. Things have been pretty hectic and abstract and wonderful.
One of the things I've been dreaming about for a long time is proposing to my party. I wanted it to be my first official bride thing. I knew I wanted to make it special and festive and as exciting for them as it is for me. My fiancé and I decided to keep our parties small and within the family, so for me it means making both my sisters maids of honor, which is actually so perfect. My mom always told us that friends get boyfriends and jobs and life happens and things change but sisters never, ever, ever change, and I've been so lucky to be a living testimony that sisters make the best friends ever. That's not to say I don't have amazing, loyal, lifelong friends that I'd love to have in my party. I'm the kind of person that would rather have 3 really amazing friends than tons of average friends, so I know exactly who I would've asked, and I made sure they knew it. However, we decided to make it a family affair. Besides, I loooove the idea of my sisters being the Pippas to my self-proclaimed Kate Middleton. How humble of me huh?
Anyways, that being said, I set out to Pinterest and every other platform to build the perfect maid of honor proposal box.
The box consisted of:
- Proposal scratch-off card (here)
- Maid of Honor robe (here)
- Maid of Honor phone case (here)
- Minimergency kit for bridesmaids (here)
- Essie "She said yes!" nailpolish
- Customized sugar cookies (If you're in Quito, here)
I also made one for my mom since she's "one of the girls", or should I say, THE girl. She was loving her Mother of the Bride box.
They obviously saw it coming, but that didn't take away from the excitement and champagne popping!
It was the perfect start to our busy wedding-gown-shopping week in Miami. It started with a bang and ended with a pretty dreamy gown! A dream week if you ask me.
